2. The thyroid gland that secretes excess thyroid hormone leading to hyperthyroidism.
3. Symptoms develop slowly and include weight loss in spite of a ravenous appetite,
vomiting, excessive thirst and urinations and occasionally behavioral changes.
4.Treatment includes oral medications to block the production of thyroid hormone, surgery to remove the benign tumor or administering a single dose of radioactive iodine.
