22/100 RA patients had CHT/hypothyroidism.32/100 had TPO antibodies. Only significant predictor of CHT/hypothyroidism was weight gain and cold intolerance.

Comments: Bedside history taking is a lost art to many physicians with handy blood testing. Some never even feel the thyroid gland even when the TSH is high or low! Although these symptoms are important the TSH/TPO tests should be your best way to uncover thyroid disease in RA patients.
