Super Gelatin Thyroid RFA Model for RFA Ablation Master’s Class Training.
Using a modification of the technique first used by DR.Dev Abraham to train AACE members to do USGFNA we have added beef nodules to the gelatin to teach Thyroid RFA ablation during my Master’s class.
The ablation of simulated “beef” nodules seen on Ultrasound is clearly working as a substitute for a bovine liver. This is a new teaching tool used at the Santa Monica Thyroid Center in Dr.Guttler’s Thyroid tumor ablation Masters Classes for endocrinologists wanting to be involved in clinical trials for RFA of benign thyroid nodules in 2018.
Call Matt at 310-393-8860 or firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
The cooled gelatin is poured over the beef nodules glued to the bottom of the pan.
Hot gelatin will cook the meat and make them unusable for ablation.
The black dye is then added.
Black dye obscures the location of the beef nodules. The ability to ablate the beef nodules is seen in the above image.
The other advantage is while you are ablating the nodule if the operator goes outside of the beef nodule the teacher can see it as it moves into the gelatin as in this video.
