Patients are upset when they are told there is no other solution to their thyroid nodule or cancer problem than surgery with their local surgeon.

They have searched the internet and see alternative procedures such as ethanol ablation PEI and radiofrequency ablation RFA for nodules, cysts thyroid cancer lymph node recurrence, and even micro-papillary thyroid cancer as alternative to surgery or active surveillance.

Their questions are ignored with the statement these procedures are painful and dangerous. This translate “We do not know anything about these procedures, and you should just see my surgeon.”

Thyroid patients with nodules or cancer should look at the list of ECNU certified physicians who are trained in Ultrasound and thyroid biopsies and find one near you and make an appointment. Discuss alternative procedures and ask the physician why he is not doing alternative ablations in his or her office.

Tell them that the local area needs someone to do these to save the patients the expense, complication risk, loss of work and long recovery time for a problem easily solved by either PEI or RFA.

Patients have clout if they band together and send letters to the ECNU endocrinologists/physicians in the surrounding area insisting they train in alternative ablation procedures.

Ethanol ablation PEI is available now for treatment of cysts, cancer lymph nodes and even primary micro-papillary thyroid cancers. Training is available for ECNU not doing PEI now. They can call 310-393-8860 for training options, or email at thyroid.manager@protonmail.com.

Thyroid RFA is not available for patient use in the USA. This is about to change. Over 4,000 patients have been treated for nodules and cancer by Thyroid RFA around the world with excellent results. Every US patient deserves to have their thyroid nodule or cancer treated with the lowest risk, least expensive alternatives without going to the hospital for surgery.

A  complete list of ECNU endocrinologists is located at http://goo.gl/zD5vLg. Find the ones near you and send a letter to get them aware of the need for alternative treatments and that they are best suited to bring them to your area.

Every Thyroid PEI or RFA treatment done in place of surgery saves the patient from a hospitalization. Mayo Clinic study found every PEI treatment saved $35-50,000 in costs compared to out-patient PEI.

The internet gives you the power to influence your local physicians to alter their referral patterns. Thyroid PEI is available now in the US. Thyroid RFA is available as well but there needs to be a referral to a center in Europe or Korea to get the procedure.

Call Alicia at 310-393-8860 or email thyroid.manager@protonmail.com to be evaluated to see if you are a PEI candidate.
