Thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation RFA Training in Images#3

Dr.Richard Guttler’s Private Thyroid Ablation Master’s Class

Training methods:

The actual simulated nodule ablation using either bovine liver or gelatin mold with “beef” nodules.

346img_0117

After simulated thyroid capsule injection with lidocaine, the procedure

begins with either a bovine liver .

A first test to see if the 10 mm hot tip is working on the surface of the liver.

The ablation begins from a single entry point where the lidocaine was injected and the moving shot method sections off the nodule in 10 mm units and the procedure is begun posterior and inferior.

This continues until the middle and superior sections are ablated.

The beef nodules in the liver or gelatin model are removed and checked for complete ablation.
