205 patients with Acromegaly and 184 matched comtrols.

Thyroid lesions are significantly more common in Acromegaly patients. 78% had a thyroid lesion. Multinodular goiter was the most common while thyroid cancer was not increased.

Growth hormone excess in Acromegaly causes benign growth of the thyroid gland with nodules but not more thyroid cancers expected ( 2-5%)
