Percutaneous ethanol injection is an effective treatment for both solid and cystic thyroid nodules.
Ethanol ablation is more effective in cystic thyroid nodules than in solid nodules and should be the treatment of choice for those benign cystic thyroid lesions large enough to induce local discomfort, cosmetic damage, or anxiety in patients.
Benign solid nodules decreased by 50% and relieved symptoms and cosmetic problems.
RFA is better for solid nodules but ethanol can be useful to decrease size and relieve symptoms for patient is the US that can not travel out of the country.-
