54 Y/O male with a visible thyroid nodule comes to me for a second opinion. He was told PEI was dangerous, but found my website and came to see if he was a candidate. The right sided nodule was soft and movable. T4 T3 were normal and the TSH was 3rd standard deviation low.I/123 uptake normal and image failed to detect a hot nodule but did show the cold nodule in the location of the neck mass. TPO,TGab and TSI were normal. He had two previous drainage procedure that failed.

PEI in this case is very safe, no surgery,no scar,no need for thyroid hormone treatment, minor or no complications compared to surgery and no hospital stay with risks of infections. There is no recovery time either.You walk out within 30-60 minutes with a small circular band aide and no pain medications.
Don’t fall for the lies and distortions about the safety of ethanol ablation given by self serving surgeons and other physician without a clue about the procedure.
